1st Thoughts to Consider Before Starting an Online Business or Networking Opportunity
By Bonnie Smith-Silvia on Aug 31, 2010 in Internet Marketing
For those of you interested in joining a network marketing company or finding your first home business to start or just looking for a solution to creating the lifestyle you desire, this post is to start your thinking and make the right decisions for YOU.
First thing to consider is the responsibility you are taking on. Having your own business means you need time and money. You will need to make sure that it will involves a product or service that others want pay for and have enough customers to support the business. Do all your research, get some kind of experience and don’t forget common sense.
If you don’t have a lot of money then you need a lot of time. Full time or moonlighting means you start where you are NOW with what you have. It takes guts, dedication and devotion. Others may laugh or say you can’t. It takes practice and repeated actions: learning and applying as you go and loving every minute.
The first step is your thoughts and mindset. You have to be a discipline of action and a leader. Marketing and leadership must be powerfully joined together. You need to change how you think. Going it alone isn’t easy and takes longer to reach each goal. Find a community that can help you grow. Get with a coach. Find the platform to flourish and be independent.
Your enthusiasm may get you distracted or out of balance. You can spend less time with family, friends or doing fun activities. There may be levels of stress you’ve never had. You can burn out. You may buy things you don’t need or aren’t ready for. Usually this is due to not getting the proper guidance or direction. You may be getting bits and parts but not the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
If you want to have any business you need to market it. Today that means in order to survive you need to know the basics of online marketing and keep up with the rapid technology that communicates your message to the most people in the fastest amount of time. Even if you delegate the daily, weekly and monthly tasks to others you have to know the steps. The other thing that hasn’t changed since the beginning of time is the need to have the personal energy that will shine out and attract others. The power is in the people who are looking for you to give them what they want. They have to know you exist and are for real.
Beware you can get overworked and mentally or physically exhausted unless you have the right plan of action and thoughts of confidence. Here is my initial list to consider making the transition from employee to business owner:
*Take you time before you jump into a niche or network marketing company. Don’t just think of the money you could make. Do soul searching on yourself and what you like and can do now.
*Talk to others in the business you choose. Know how much time you can devote to working in or on it. You may want to promote others’ products or services first and do it at a pace you feel comfortable in and can learn from.
*Understand basic accounting: how much you have, how much you’ll need, how much you’ll make. Don’t pick high risk opportunities. Don’t quit a job until you can replace it.
*Learn how to use a computer and other communication tools such as an autoresponder and video camera.
*Learn how to run a web-based E-Commerce business including marketing.
*Write out a plan and your goals and vision. Get a qualified second opinion on it.
*Don’t forget about your health: diet and exercise and personal mental mindset!
